Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance and repair activity as per contractual requirements, relevant guidelines, legislation and codes. Planned Preventative Maintenance and call-in tasks to be documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) using an ipad. Customer relationship management and satisfaction. Assistance to other trades. Ensure safety to the staff and public using the facility. Avoidance of abatement events. Maintenance and repair of facility assets / systems. Retention of maintenance and repair documentation. Effective participation in on site roster. Effective interaction to site CMMS. Effective interaction with the Honeywell Help Desk and other team members. Effective compliance to repair works process. Maintain professional customer and public interactions. Site Safety including site safety Manual, Reporting near misses, incidents and other opportunities for improvement. Carry out hazard and risk assessments for all tasks as per company policy and procedures. Daily and weekly rounds of mechanical spaces.

Overseeing heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration / fire systems and building control systems. Monitoring alarms, gauges and other instruments. Isolating equipment mechanically and electrical for inspection and repair. Minor plumbing repairs, Water treatment testing, Fire extinguisher checks. Change light bulbs and ceiling tiles, Clean roof drains and Minor door / window repairs

Install signage / pictures / white boards / bulletin boards etc. Cleaning mechanical / electrical rooms and other space maintained by Honeywell Facility Management Services. Repair office furniture / chairs.

Assist other (licensed) trades with any work not requiring specific license as required. Adheres to all safety regulations and ensures tools and work areas are maintained to standard. Maintains confidentiality and release of information in accordance with hospital policy at all times. Obligation to review and commit to applicable departmental and Honeywell policies and procedures at all times.

Constructs repairs and maintains structures such as partitions, ceilings, casework, and other parts of hospital buildings (interior and exterior), including doors, locks, windows, floors, walls etc. Repairs / installs locks, door closer and all related hardware associated with doors / windows. Small wall fixture removal, small drywall repairs (screw holes, nail holes). Performs related duties as assigned by the Facility Manager or Supervisor.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Grade 12 education.
  • 2-years maintenance experience.
  • Police clearance a requirement for the role.
WE VALUE
  • Preference will be given to those with a Building Equipment Operator Certification
  • Experience with HVAC systems
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience working within a healthcare industry is preferred
  • Previous experience working with customers
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential when interpreting blueprints/drawings
  • Effective communication including customer follow up
