Honeywell Transportation Systems is expanding our Electric Products Group charged with creating complex electric boosting solutions to meet increasingly stringent automotive regulations while still satisfying customer demands for performance and drivability. We are building a world class group that will design, develop and bring to market state of the art electric machines coupled to our market leading turbocharger technologies. These products will span vehicles from passenger cars to heavy duty commercial vehicles and include conventional and hybrid powertrains as well as fully electric fuel cell vehicles. We leverage our AEROSPACE and MOTORSPORTS technology and heritage to deploy high-power / high-speed electric motor technology to automotive boosting electrification. Honeywell is leading the world with the first production launch of a high speed electric turbo-compressor that not only includes one of the most power dense motors, it is also the first automotive use of air bearings. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a key member in the development of Low Voltage digital and analog circuitry used for state of the art motor control. Areas of your responsibility will include specification of sub circuits, design and test . You will work closely with our power electronic experts, Controls team, System Architects, and manufacturing partners to drive product improvement from concept design through to launch.

The successful candidate must be able work efficiently within the development team as well as on independent tasks. Typical days involve collaborating with internal teams that are co-located, as well and internal and external teams that are located globally. You will collaborate with outside vendors and manage priorities to ensure timely test execution.

Foster product improvement by effective communication to Systems Level Design

15 Analyze customer/system requirements

40 Design and Simulation digital / analog circuitry

15 Work with internal and external vendors for manufacturing

30 Characterization and Test of hardware

* You must have: *

  • BS or MS Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in circuit design experience

* We Value: *

  • Start to Finish experience in PCBA design (Mentor Graphics preferred)
  • Strong competence in analog circuit design (low power supply circuits, signal conditioning, filtering, CAN / Flexray communication transceivers, A/D and D/A converters, isolators and isolation techniques)
  • Familiar with DSP/ Microcontroller I/O and peripheral circuitry
  • Proficient with lab tools (oscilloscopes, data logging and measurement, etc)
  • Familiar with ISO 26262 development process
  • Basic understanding of motor control theory
  • Impeccable reporting and organizational abilities
  • Collaborative team player
  • Basic turbocharger knowledge is an asset
  • Basic understanding of internal combustion engines
