Based in our global design centre in Shah Alam Malaysia you will be part of a small team responsible for the development and support of electronic based wiring device products. This team is part of a global engineering team responsible for a wide range BS and VDE standard wiring devices products sold into multiple markets around the world under the MK Electric and Peha brands.
The main role involves the design and ongoing engineering support of the electronics firmware and hardware elements of products. You will be involved in the development of new products via both in house design and supporting buy-to-sell projects as well as the ongoing support and maintenance of those products throughout their life cycle.
JOB SCOPE & MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide technical support where required on customer issues

25 Creation of instructional technical manuscripts
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIORS REQUIRED
o Experience of design and development of low cost embedded firmware for 8 and 16 bit PICs and Micro-processors using C (and assembler) using configuration management tools.
o Ability to create well architected and structured code to facilitate re-use and interrupt managent prioritisation
o Experience of real time embedded firmware design for consumer products their associated user interfaces.
o Practical experience in utilising software techniques to reduce external hardware requirements.
o Use of debug tools and methods for root cause analysis to facilitate rapid problem solving.
o Ability to plan, document and implement robust unit and integration testing
o Experience of production testing relating to firmware based product functionality
o Ability to analyse and understand other people’s code and develop-on.
o Embedded micro-controller hardware design using 8 and 16 bit PICs and Micro-processors
o Aanalogue and power electronics background.
§ Switch mode power supplies up to 30W
§ Analogue power control of mains voltages (ideally with application in lighting control/dimming)
§ Electronic and electro-mechanical switching of AC mains for load control
o Proven ability to improvise where available tools and documentation may be inadequate
o EMC design and analysis to optimise performance and ensure efficient EMC compliance
o Experience of schematic capture, PCB and Assembly layout and circuit analysis.
o A general overview and understanding of RF communications and cyber security
o A general understanding of electronic manufacturing assembly and test practices.
