Building Automation Service Specialist

The main function of this position is to Commission Honeywell Control Systems for HVAC equipment. These Control Systems are engineered by Honeywell in-house engineers, installed by Electrical Sub Contractors and then commissioned by Honeywell Field techs in buildings. This technician will also provide technical support to other technicians as needed.

Specialist Install Technicianwill work towards continuous improvement of commissioning practices, specifically reducing commissioning hours per device and/or hours per system using HOS techniques.

Job Duties:

  • Commissioning Control System

  • Download pre-engineered Software, checkout Control systems, start up, and commission systems and fine tune their operations as per Customer requirements or Job specifications or both.

  • Troubleshoot hardware & software issues, ability to make software changes to meet spec requirements.
  • Be aware of Honeywell’s scope of work and protect financial impact due to changes by supporting and obtaining Change Orders wherever appropriate
  • Coordination with other trades & Customer/GC/MC as well as Honeywell engineering
  • Work with Installing contractor and ensure installation is completed per Honeywell drawings and guidelines
  • Support work with system balancer as necessary
  • Lead the field install team and act as an interface between engineering and field.
  • Maintain project schedule for field related activities. Keep detailed records of scope changes related to customer agreements and obtain written approval as necessary to document project impact (including costs & savings).
  • Customer Management

  • Conduct basic system functional testing as required per Contract

  • Administrative responsibilities

  • Be responsible for Honeywell assets such as Tools, Software, & site database

  • Keep documentation & paperwork up to date
  • Maintain functional testing documentation as required
  • Health and Safety

  • Carry out site hazard and risk assessments for Honeywell tasks, including proper use of safety PPE

  • Ensures all OSHA requirements and Honeywell corporate safety programs are implemented
  • Other Requirements

  • Security and other Clearances as required by client

  • Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays

    30 Provide Customer Support

YOU MUST HAVE
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC systems, Control systems, Mechanical system operation and/or building facilities.
  • 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Browsers.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid O6 Electrical License.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting skills.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to guide Associate Install Technical Specialists.
