Lead all reliability related matters including managing the global reliability team

Determine program reliability requirements (both internal and external customer)

Estimate expected reliability throughout product development cycle

Adapt reliability and statistical tools to complex situations involving minimal information and data

Devise and communicate test plans needed to demonstrate reliability targets

Enhance and cascade reliability lessons learned process utilizing key quality history and field experience data

Analyze in-vehicle duty cycle and on-engine test cycle data using statistical and graphical techniques

Determine sample sizes and/or equivalent test times needed for reliability demonstration on tests with few or no failures

Apply competing risk and mixed mode distribution models where appropriate

Utilize appropriate parametric and non-parametric models when analyzing data

Conduct univariate and bivariate warranty data analyses including failure forecasting and warranty term limit trade-offs

Lead all reliability related matters including managing the global reliability team

Develop reliability growth plan and identify gaps

Develop reliability targets at the system and component level

20 Routinely and effectively communicate with program teams and upper management regarding launch readi

20 Develop and implement predictive reliability tools and statistical models to enable analytical risk

30 Conduct system level reliability analyses utilizing reliability block diagrams and fault trees

20 Support design reviews and engineering team meetings

YOU MUST HAVE
  • M.S. in Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Reliability/Survival analysis, such as: non-parametric (Kaplan-Meier) estimation, parametric distribution analysis, proportional hazard modeling, accelerated life test and degradation data analysis, survival regression
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in an automotive or related environment

WE VALUE

  • Demonstrated tool usage in reliability engineering and applied statistics (DOE, regression, life data analyses, capability and SPC)
  • Ability to manage a global team simultaneously working across multiple applications
  • Ability to work independently developing risk assessment strategies for various situations
  • Comfortable discussing results and techniques used with a wide variety of engineering teams including upper management and external customers
  • Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
  • Familiarity with reliability and statistics software packages (Reliasoft, WinSmith, Minitab, Crystal Ball)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred
  • Certified Reliability Engineer a Plus
