Global MRO Category Leader

The role of MRO Category leader is to lead certain subcategories out of the approximately $400M Operating Supplies category across Honeywell globally encompassing chemicals, industrial gas, hand & power tools, cutting tools, motors, bearings & transmission, safety supplies, janitorial supplies, lab supplies, pipes, valves and fittings.• Plan, organize, provide direction and execute the strategic sourcing strategies of the Operating Supplies category

• Identify and lead cross SBG teams to develop projects and leverage global spend in MRO accomplishing SBG, COE and CST objectives leading to AOP spend attainment, savings and cash flow goals.

• Leads in responsible area to deliver significant savings in price reduction, value engineering and consumption reduction.

• Improve working capital performance by increasing payment days and implementing MPO.

• Deploy auctions to competitively bid responsible areas.

• Leads the development of category strategies incorporating supplier rationalization, quality, cost, service requirements, market conditions and preferred supplier listings.

• Closely aligns with SBG and COE functional leadership to ensure coordination and integration of procurement strategies.

• Ensure effective and timely negotiation of all supplier agreements and holds regular business reviews with key suppliers.

• Develops metrics to analyze and measure supplier's performance against commitments.

• Introduce Net 120 policy to all suppliers globally

• Accelerate supplier global MPO (monthly payment optimization) standardization

• Support HON Sales team to increase revenue generation opportunities with supply base

• Work with buying teams to drive non-PSL spend to preferred suppliers

• Increase automation/catalogs

• Increase spend on contract with preferred suppliers

• Negotiate guaranteed productivity savings into all Agreements

• Supplier reduction/inactivation-identify opportunity/execute

• Market/commodity research/benchmarking/category reports

• Vending machine implementations support

• Thoroughly understands and adheres to Honeywell procurement

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have/be:

• In-depth knowledge of sourcing, strategic sourcing processes, negotiation experience

• Experience with Indirect Commodities (MRO experience a plus)

• BA/BS in Business or other relevant discipline. 5+ years of relevant Sourcing experience

• Proactive, positive communication skills

• Capable of moving past barriers, being self-directed/motivated

• Capable of independently working on multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to multi-task projects and assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment

• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication

• Demonstrated program management skills and ability to drive projects to completion

• Ability to handle multiple customers/priorities with minimal supervision

• Ability to work in a virtual environment

• Communicates clearly; balances listening and speaking; respects others while they speak and responds thoughtfully; reflects on people’s concerns; easy to approach
