You will provide training and guidance on import control matters for your assigned businesses. You will support investigations of compliance matters, as well as audits and implementation of necessary

corrective actions. This position supports an Aerospace facility located in Kanata Ontario.

Duties include accurate and timely customs processing, for of both military and commercial products. Be a strategic business partner in a global organization. Interface with customers, carriers/freight forwarders and customs authorities (or other government agencies) to ensure smooth transactions.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Education: Minimum of completion of a 2 year College Diploma
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a customs-related role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience interfacing with customers, carriers/freight forwarders and customs authorities (or other government agencies) to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and a valid CCS designation.
  • Must have knowledge of NAFTA certificate.
WEVALUE
  • Some experience in Contracts, Law, Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Program Management, etc.
  • Interfacing with customers, carriers/freight forwarders and customs authorities (or other government agencies) to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Experience in SAP
  • Some knowledge of Canadian Import control laws
  • Strong process improvement, problem-solving and logic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, process and follow through on multiple tasks
  • Excellent team player who can get the support of key stakeholders with divergent viewpoints
  • In this position, you must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance
