Field Service Technician

The main function of this position is to provide preventive maintenance, respond and resolve service calls, providing technical support and troubleshooting to Honeywell customers. Additional responsibilities include technical delivery of small service jobs and time and material work. These customers will have various products installed including automation controls, life safety, fire and security systems, as well as their associated computer systems.

Job Duties:

  • Technical and Job Related Responsibilities

  • Verify system functional performance to ensure proper operations per contract requirements including: test and verify system and peripheral device operations as per preventative maintenance schedule

  • Complete documentation of all work done, including all readings, offsets, etc.
  • Perform system backups, install appropriate updates and patches
  • Maintain customer system documentation with any configuration or model changes.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required
  • Availability for performance of duties outside of normal working hours as required
  • Be responsible for Honeywell’s assets such as tools, software, and site database
  • Keep documentation and paperwork up-to-date
  • Customer Management

  • Promote, build and maintain good customer relations

  • Keep Supervisor informed of customer requirements, systems status, and actual, potential or perceived customer problems
  • Demonstrate system and provide training to customers as required
  • Understand contract scope of service, equipment coverages, and requirements
  • Health and Safety

  • Carry out risk assessments for tasks, including proper use of safety personal protective equipment

  • Other Requirements

  • Security and other clearances as required by client

  • Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays

    30 Provide Customer Support

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate
  • 3 years’ experience in technically related field work in HVAC, fire, security and/or IT
  • Valid Driver’s License with safe driving record
  • Lift 50 lbs and work on ladders

  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Word & Excel
  • NICET Certification
  • Previous industry experience
  • Previous technical/installation experience
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Ability to follow instructions and identify mistakes
