This role is responsible for scale-up of new polymerization processes for Honeywell’s Advanced Materials fluoropolymer business unit. This role requires hands-on engineering skills and experiences in operating lab and pilot plant equipment. The engineering skills include mass balance, energy balance, mass transfer, heat transfer, reactor and equipment design and improvement, kinetics and thermodynamics, etc. The candidate should possess profound experience and knowledge of suspension, emulsion, solution, bulk polymerization along with knowledge of initiators, catalysts, chain termination, and chain transfer agents. The candidate should be familiar with batch or continuous polymerization processes.
The core function of this role includes identifying process or quality improvement opportunities, designing improvement plans, achieving milestones by executing the R&D plans with Six Sigma and project management tools and methodologies such as DOE and Minitab analysis, value stream mapping, FMEA, Pareto analysis, etc.
This role will be leading project teams in a cross functional environment. Communicating results, challenges and mitigation plans, along with writing technical reports will be essential. Acting quickly when faced with ambiguity and delivering commitment are important to success.

YOU MUST HAVE
M.S. in Chemical, Polymer or Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
10 years of R&D or pilot plant experience in fluoropolymer manufacturing industries.
Six Sigma Green Belt
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Engineering.
Project Management experience.
Olefin and/or Fluoropolymer processing experience.
Aspen and/or kinetics and/or CFD modeling experience.
Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing experience.
