As a Sr. Director, Global Data Governance & Management you will report directly to the VP, Data Science and be a member of the Honeywell Connected Enterprise Team. This role is integral to driving the digital transformation of Honeywell and creating the capabilities needed that allows us to serve the consumer faster and more personally, at scale. This role, in conjunction with our business leaders will help accelerate our greatest opportunities and put decision-making closer to the consumer, across Honeywell Strategic Business Units, so we can move at the speed of the marketplace.

The strategic leader in this role will serve as a senior executive leader and subject matter expert, envisioning the strategy, roadmap, business case, funding needs and execution across Honeywell's ecosystem, and be responsible for driving all levels of strategy, vision and execution to deliver on the mission of governing and managing Honeywell’s critical data assets supporting the end to end value chain. This role will partner across technology and the business to drive consistent / best-in-class Data Governance (Meta Data Management / Data Cataloging, Data Quality, Master Data Management, & lineage) across various Data domains, impacting every part of our business.

This enterprise leader will be accountable for the continued drive of a Honeywell-wide culture of data ownership and recognition that quality data and information are core assets. Ultimately, this leadership role at Honeywell will drive and Influence the strategic direction for how we use data as a strategic asset to serve our global consumers, at scale.

Essential Job Functions

•Operate as a thought leader and visionary, with the ability to guide, influence and inspire peak performance, innovation and adoption of data and analytics solutions across the Honeywell value chain.

•Own the strategy and Drive consistent / best-in-class Data Governance (Meta Data Management / Data Cataloging, Data Quality, Master Data Management, & lineage) across all parts of the Honeywell business and data domains.

•In partnership with the business, establishes and maintains a Data Quality and Stewardship Framework, which consists of policies, standard operating procedures, measures, standards and requirements, in order to foster awareness, trust, and drive ownership and accountability.

•Lead the evaluation and possible adoption of emerging data management & quality technologies in the marketplace that could add significant value to our businesses and functions

•Program manage a portfolio of global data quality improvement and remediation projects through the entire lifecycle (from Proof of Concept through to full scale production) including business case development, obtaining LOB & Region Head budget approvals, driving technology requirements and prioritization through implementation and sustainability activities.

•Vendor and technology strategy and management including leading the sourcing, evaluation, selection, onboarding and management of third party consultants to deliver on defined project scope & deliverables. Serve as a senior business resource for technology, vendor and third party resources and have accountability in terms of delivering work according to statement of work scope and budget.

•Serves as the product owner and guides the business requirements for Master Data Management & governance platforms, tools and capabilities.

•Creates a data democratization and ensure Honeywell Data is discoverable, catalogued, categorized and available to support a variety of data products and services

•Responsible for the communication and change management plan for Enterprise Information Management with data stewards and business owners

•Collaborates with senior management and Honeywell legal Compliance in developing recommendations around policies, privacy standards and framework(s) for data governance and controls

•Conceptualize, develop, and communicate global master data strategy in alignment with business strategy serving as a MDM thought leader;

•Identify and lead efforts to implement or modify necessary policies, procedures and system enhancements to fill current and future Data Governance gaps.

•Develop and implement Data Governance policies and procedures covering Data Quality, Data Control, and Data Strategy.

•Design and build frameworks and data quality control mechanisms to ensure highest levels of data integrity and quality across Honeywell

•Constant monitoring of master data against the currently used data in various business processes to identify the gaps, discrepancies and the opportunities to further improve quality of master data.

•Establish and implement an Enterprise Metadata Strategy that provides consistency across all Honeywell Data domains but also flexibility for evolution and growth based on business needs.

•Partner with Honeywell business leaders to establish scalable data stewardship roles and processes

Proven track record of:

•Proven experience leading and inspiring a high-performing data team to support growth objectives

•Manage sourcing of all data procurement needs

•Creating innovative data products, algorithms and solutions, using the most recent technologies

•Evangelism of technology & data/analytics capabilities with business executives to solve their toughest challenges

•Focused on deployment of the Enterprise Data Governance operational model to improve the quality of data used in key enterprise processes

Skills:

•Strong skills in team leadership and building positive business partner relationships

•Strong networking skills and ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals

•Demonstrated ability to influence critical business outcomes in a matrix based, global environment

•Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams

•Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

•Familiarity with data privacy laws and controls (IE: GDPR, VPPA)

•Experience working with data & analytic solutions and the science behind them, either as a builder/provider of these solutions or as a client that uses them.

•Familiarity with the trends and opportunities in the data governance, analytics & big data space

•Experience in thought leadership in emerging master data management technologies including machine learning, AI and data science to improve data quality and management

•Experience and deep knowledge of metadata management and tools strongly preferred

•Prior experience applying data mastering principals or working in reference data management

•Solid understanding of modern and scalable MDM processes

•Background in data quality (DQM), data control and process improvement

You Must Have

•BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or Business

We Value

•Strong MDM, reference or transactional data management, data governance, data engineering data architecture, data modeling or data analysis experience

•Extensive program management and project management experience

•Experience with MDM tools or products (e.g. SAP MDG, Informatica, etc)

or related field
