This position is responsible as a Lead Project Engineer of the Aero Manufacturing Engineering New Product Development (AME NPD) organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading new development programs in the following areas: Design to Unit Product Cost (DTUPC), Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, and Test (DFMA&T), Advanced Quality Production Planning (APQP), and Flawless Launch. He/she will lead the ISC effort of NPD from concept development to production transition through coordination, negotiation and partnering with ISC Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and the business teams.

Executing to the program cost and schedule with Honeywell Milestone Reporting (HMR) accountability for Category 1 through Category 3 milestones

Executing the demonstrated rolled throughput yield at >96% at product launch

Executing the demonstrated unit product cost actuals within 5% of target cost at 1 year of Entry into Service (EIS)

Executing to the NPD capital expenditures schedule, cost, and validation plans for program launch

Executing Manufacturing Readiness Level assessments per HMR schedule

Lead project level and site-level NPD improvement initiatives to drive product and process improvements

Support Supplier process development for introduction of new technologies and capabilities within the scope of NPD program execution

Support Customer and Supplier communication to ensure and improve Product Quality and delivery

Lead the deployment and implementation of continuous improvements within the IPDS, APQP, Flawless Launch and NPD processes

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5 years of directly related experience in New Product Engineering environment

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Honeywell Operating Systems (HOS)
  • Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing techniques and their impact on cost, quality, and producibility
  • Knowledge, skill and experience with wide range of industry standard manufacturing processes
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status and program needs across different levels of the organization and different operating environments
  • Able to deal tactfully and confidently with internal, external customers and suppliers at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, able to influence and provide visionary leadership
  • Proficient in project management skills with the ability to close initiatives on time and within budget
  • Results focused with successful record of accomplishments through skilled use of influence, persuasion, negotiation, and problem resolution
  • Green Belt, DFSS, Lean or Black Belt certification. Demonstrated ability in using six sigma tools
  • Excellent computer skills including EXCEL and MS Project
