To further enhance our quality services, there exists a role for Group Leader – EQP Process Engineering.


Direct all activities of the EQP Process Engineering Group. This group is responsible for providing Process Design Engineering support for Pre-Sales and Post-Sales phases of Equipment Projects, including proposal phase process design, development of Basic Engineering Design Packages (BEDP / SchA), development of Front End Engineering Designs (FEED), Process Support for Detail Engineering & Project Execution, and Process Engineering check-outs during Fabrication and Commissioning phases.

Manage, develop and enhance Process Engineering resources and workforce required for handling the above aspects for the following Equipment product lines: H2 Technologies (PSA and H2 Membranes), R&P Modular (Merox, Isomerization, NHT, Platforming, CCR) and other New Product Development initiatives.

Manage resource planning for the EQP Process Engineering Group for the above aspects to meet demands from the Project Development Support and Project Execution groups. Address project and sales support scheduling and prioritization issues with Project Execution and Project Development Support groups.
Accountable for Basic and Detailed Process Engineering consisting of Process & Hydraulics Simulations and preparation of Process Engineering deliverables (e.g. Process Design Summary, PFD, P&ID, MFD, Controls Input documents, Proposal Phase Design Papers & Estimate memos, Revamp Study reports etc.), Process specific site surveys for revamps etc. while ensuring compliance to UOP’s technical specifications, work processes & procedures.
Accountable for Process Engineering review of vendor quotes and project phase vendor deliverables such as datasheets, drawings, documents, 3D Models etc. Continually evaluate the effectiveness of Process Engineering group; drive the efforts for continuous

Work Process and Productivity improvements.

Ensure smooth coordination with other specialists/ engineering teams, with Project Execution Team, with Project Development Support Teams and IPL Equipment Management.
Ensure that accurate & consistent design basis information is obtained and provided to enable smooth transfer from one phase of execution to another within the Process Group and across other engineering / execution functions.
Ensure that all projects meet customer satisfaction requirements, including UOP Quality standards and METRICS (like OTTR, PPM and COPQ)
Actively participate to ensure that ISO 9001certification is maintained.
Follow-up on items and lessons learned for applicable specialisation as captured thro’ RCA’s for a CAPA, field reports, establish root cause and implement corrective actions.
Manage Process Engineering related documentation. Align documentation system with changing organization structures; work with the Team to implement the Document Management system to ensure alignment with work processes.
Coordinate with UOP LLC and other UOP offices as required.
Ensure that Process Engineering team provides input and participates in vendor evaluation reviews, project close-out reports and subsequent meetings. Act on specialisation-related RCA’s for CAPA’s that come out of these reviews.
Monitor needs for additional or improved infrastructure, tools and training requirements for the Process Engineering team, to ensure design consistency.
Plan projects, obtain resource assignments and track progress.
Manage and address cross departmental issues, including Process Engineering issues related to Equipment integration with other UOP technologies and with other UOP Equipment Offices (International Alignment).
Plan for the development of critical skills to meet overall needs, and co-ordinate recruiting and hiring of new personnel.
Ensure all direct reports support corporate HS&E policies, especially in relation to Office & Field Safety practices and engineering design policies.
Hire, train, and provide inputs towards performance management, career development and salary administration for assigned staff.

Coach all direct subordinates and mentor high potential employees within the Process Engineering team.

Work to optimise worldwide Equipment Process engineering resource utilization with corresponding Managers at Des Plaines and other UOP offices.

Work with the UOP Equipment Field Support group to apply Process Engineering resources for resolution of customer performance issues.

· Knowledge of the UOP sales process, including strategy and tactics employed in the equipment area.

· Understanding of Equipment Design and Fabrication techniques, standards and tools.

· Excellent interpersonal skills to be used at the International level with colleagues worldwide.


· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

· Able to communicate effectively in English.


· Good analytical skills and sound judgment.

· Highly motivated, Independent and Team player

· Negotiation skills and business acumen are an advantage
