Sr. Plant Director
This position will be located in the Honeywell Aerospace site in Urbana, OH and will be the site leadership role for the Operations Center. This position will report to the Vice President Integrated Supply Chain and will be responsible for manufacturing functions at Urbana. The position will work closely with Customer Business Teams and other ISC representatives to ensure site delivery and quality performance exceeds customer expectations. Reporting to this position in Urbana are the respective leaders and functional managers of Operations, Quality, Materials Management, Maintenance and Safety. This critical leadership role is responsible to integrate all aerospace functions in a highly matrixed organization to ensue seamless execution of the entire integrated delivery system.
RESPONSIBILITIES * Implement a comprehensive Value Stream Strategy including lean manufacturing processes based on the most progressive and advanced manufacturing techniques to include the Honeywell Operating System (HOS), Just In Time and Lean/Kanban principles * Manage directly or indirectly a site of 600 employees * Provide the necessary leadership to promote change throughout the organization and continue to develop and lead a world class manufacturing organization * Work across all functions in a matrix environment to drive the deployment of the Honeywell Operating system to create a World Class Safety culture, strong Delivery improvements, On Time to Customer Request, cycle time and inventory reductions, improved quality and year over year cost productivity * Strategic responsibilities include: provides strategic direction for the site activities and assists in the development of the Site STRAP (1, 3 and 5 year strategic plans) * Drive an effective ISC goal deployment process that aligns with ISC Strategy Deployment via the A3 process * Ensure that productivity and plant/product transition projects are successfully executed * Provide site representation to community service activities as well as government and compliance activities. Operational/Financial responsibilities include: responsible for developing and executing the AOP (Annual Operating Plan) and has direct responsibility for departmental spend and budget management * Drive site to achieve/surpass financial commitments * Perform talent management at the site, ensuring hiring and development of top talent * Manage inventories to achieve cash flow goals * Ensures a safe work environment for employees * Integrate key elements of Supply Chain to improve linearity and predictability of core processes * Manage capacity/schedules to achieve OTTR (On-time to Request) * Ensure that safety, cost, quality, delivery and inventory goals are met * Integrate Six Sigma/Lean/HOS tools to continuously improve process yields, reduce COPQ and drive shop floor productivity * Improve quality through use of BIQ (Built in Quality) and HOS Deployment
YOU MUST HAVE * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Management * 10 years related experience in manufacturing with a strong background in operations and quality * 5 years progressive Leadership experience including responsibility for direct reports * Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements WE VALUE * MBA * Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Honeywell Operating Systems (HOS) * Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification * Experience or knowledge of the Aerospace industry * Sound knowledge of advanced manufacturing * Detailed work experience in at least 3 of the following areas: Manufacturing/Assembly Operations, Quality, Engineering (Design or Manufacturing), Materials/Procurement * Customer interfacing experience * Ability to develop, execute and achieve tactical and strategic initiatives through active leadership that positively impacts business plans, conversion cost, practices, policies and procedures * Understanding of lean, integrated supply chain principles, and aerospace quality requirements * Ability to effectively select, develop, coach, empower and motivate a staff to ensure growth in their scope of responsibility and accountability for operational excellence LOCATION
