Aerospace Engineering & Technologies (E&T) China Team, as part of Honeywell Technology Solutions China – an integrated R&D center of Honeywell in China, is a multi-disciplinary team with over 10 years of contributions to Honeywell’s development in the aerospace industry in China.

Our Air Traffic Management (ATM) Laboratory in China, an integral part of E&T Advanced Technology global team, conducts research and development in ATM Modernization concepts and technologies. Researchers at the ATM lab build domain knowledge on core technologies on CNS/ATM in aligning to Aerospace E&T Advanced Technology roadmap and product technology roadmap, collaborate with Chinese aerospace, aviation, and ATM industry partners on research and development, and ensure harmonization with other Honeywell global ATM initiatives such as FAA’s NextGen and European Union’s SESAR programs.

Aerospace E&T China currently has an opening for a Lead RF Engineer focusing in avionics communication/Navigation/Surveillance systems domain to work within our ATM (Air Traffic Management Modernization) Laboratory in Shanghai, China. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary global team including professionals from the United States, the European Union and Asia with background of Satcom antenna and RADAR system

The successful candidate will lead or support other team members in R&D and the development/demonstration of next generation avionic relating to RF/Radar technology domain. This candidate will

•Participate with the team on system requirements, concept development, system architecture, system designing, prototyping, integration.

•Identify new R&D project ideas in the RF/Radar technology domain, seek funding and sponsorship with M&PM, and build experiment/prototype to validate if the new technology will be meaningful for our future product or solutions.

•Develop Intellectual Property of the new technologies.

•Master of Engineer degree in Communication Engineering, Microwave and Electromagnetic Field, Signal Processing, Navigation.

•Require 7+ years of RF components and system design experience. Specific knowledge and technical experience is required in the following domains: RF design including antenna, passive RF component (e.g. filter, coupler, power divider etc.), active RF circuit (e.g. LNA, mixer, PLL synthesizer, oscillator etc.), propagation of RF signals.

•Excellent innovation record on patent and new product proposal creation

•Extensive understanding/experience in RF communications and digital communications including ASK, FSK, PSK, and QAM. Experience in RADAR system is plus.

•Proven experience in design, analysis and testing of RF electronics circuits and related PBA design.

•Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with RF EDA tools, e.g. microwave office (or ADS), HFSS (or CST)

•Good knowledge and hands-on experience with hardware design EDA tools, including PSPICE, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, Expedition, CES, Hyperlynx, Auto-CAD, etc.

•Familiar with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal analyzers, power meters, modulators/demodulators, frequency converters and signal generators.

•Knowledge of multi-layer PCB layout best practices is highly desired. Experience in baseband (analog and digital) design is highly desired.

•Fluent in English, with strong oral, written and presentation communication skills

•Ability to plan, organize, and execute technical assignments

•Ability to direct a technical team

•Ability to work in a global team environment

•Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

•Self-motivated, empowered, team player.

Additional Qualifications:

Skills/experience in any of the following areas is a plus:

•Aircraft I/O and system simulations, avionics development/test.

•Knowledge of algorithm and skills in Matlab (familiarity of Signal Processing Toolbox or Model-Based Development), MathCad.
