Honeywell Sr. Health Safety Environmental (HSE) Engineer in Plymouth, Minnesota

This position reports directly to the Plymouth Sr. HSE&F Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a functional HSE expert and support within the facility to manufacturing, research and office environment

  • Ensure full and on-going compliance with applicable legal and Honeywell requirements and industry standards

  • Interpret new and existing regulations and drive actions to assure compliance with regulatory agencies (Federal, State, County, and Local) and conformance to Honeywell requirements

  • Integrate HSE processes, procedures, and practices into daily operations

  • Lead audit teams, investigations and special projects where HSE expertise is needed and drive corrective action closure

  • Solve HSE problems (root cause analysis) and develop action plans to implement solutions

  • Lead, develop, enhance, and support sustainable systems for employee involvement (HSE committee, VPP, risk assessments, safety observations process, safe work permit processes)

  • Provide both classroom and OJT HSE training, including contractor safety

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the HSE management system and lead implementation efforts of specific elements

  • Participate in the site's Haz Mat Emergency Response Team

  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or health, safety, environmental, industrial hygiene or a related discipline

  • 5 years of direct HSE work experience in a manufacturing environment


  • Experience with HAZWOPER and emergency response

  • Preferred experience with OSHA VPP, ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001

  • Preferred Green Belt or higher certification in Six Sigma or Lean

  • Preferred external certification (CHMM, CSP, CIH, other)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at multiple levels

  • Ability to think strategically and simplify complex issues

  • Demonstrated success in motivating people using safety/behavioral processes
