Product Director JetWave/Aspire/SATCOM Antennae COE

The Aircraft Connectivity SATCOM Antennae Product Line Director reports directly into the Vice President of Aircraft Connectivity Hardware and will be responsible as the General Manager and SBU Leader for the Honeywell Aerospace SATCOM Antennae product line strategy, product line roadmaps, and overall product line profitability. This will include interlinkage with the Jetwave, Aspire, AeroWave, and related GoDirect services product and service strategic plans. Responsibilities include:

  • Development of product roadmaps that consider mandates, competitive threats, and customer needs dates to develop executable plans that meet all requirements in an appropriate time frame.

  • Ownership of the Aircraft Hardware Connectivity Merger and Acquisition Pipeline.

  • Product line management of complete life cycle of, current products including product business plans and product roadmaps coordinated with all business units, markets and verticals.

  • Development of new product concepts via Marketing Requirement Documents (MRD), especially focusing on collection of solid VOC information and development of robust product business plans.

  • Communication and coordination with all other product line leaders and applicable M&PM teams to identify synergies, design reuse, and coordinated development requirements.

  • High degree of interaction with domestic and international customers, regulatory agencies, potential partners, E&T, and the business units. The successful candidate will understand and embrace opportunities to implement product improvement initiatives inside of the portfolio, while ensuring alignment with the overall Connected Aircraft and Services product strategy. He/she will develop and maintain product strategies and roadmaps, and will also develop market analysis and segmentation, competitive analysis, voice of the customer (VOC) analysis, and value propositions. Additionally, the selected candidate will lead the product team, and partner with both business and functional resources to drive strategy execution. This position will also interface regularly with the other Aerospace Marketing, business and functional leaders to ensure goal alignment and consistent strategies.

  • Approves all product line financial analysis in accordance with product line roadmaps/strategies. Determines and approves pricing inputs for all financial analysis, value pricing, pricing strategy and catalogue publications

  • Leads Product Action Committee related to area of responsibility - to drive cross functional product strategy execution

  • Align resources for product strategy deployment for product line execution- including capital, RD&E, recovery, and technical capabilities (engineering and manufacturing

  • Defines value propositions based on customer needs analysis and incorporates into value proposition/go to market strategies

  • Collaborates with the Customer Business Teams to perform product voice of the customer

  • Owns product prioritization and approves all funding requirements and changes, and manages funding of the changes

  • Area of responsibility includes new product/business opportunities

  • Required to develop new partnerships and/or joint ventures

  • Owns and manages product life cycle financial performance (profit and loss), including the understanding that the products associated with this position are developed across several geographic locations

  • Develop and execute strategic plans, product plans, including cost and growth strategies

  • Sets strategy for product portfolio optimization and organizational execution requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field (Engineering, Logistics, Economics, Supply Chain, Math or related discipline)

  • Eight plus years directly related experience in managing and promoting high technology products from inception through sunset

  • 10 plus years of total work experience WE VALUE:

  • Background and a proven track record of successful new product planning and introduction

  • Program management or systems engineering background

  • Background with customers and proven ability to collaborate across product lines and technologies to develop joint strategies and roadmaps

  • Ability to collaborate with functions (engineering / ISC / C&PS) to execute product plans and roadmaps

  • Ability to think strategically and to scope tasks and set goals

  • Ability to manage business and organizational vision by communicating a compelling purpose, driving change cross-organizationally, and inspiring and motivating people and organizations

  • Written and presentation communication skills

  • Customer contact experience desired

  • Green Belt Certification
