Product Manufacturing Engineer III

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive overall product and process improvements using the DMAIC producibility operating system

  • Plan, deploy, monitor and control improvements including supplier initiatives to drive product and process improvements

  • Proactively integrate functional interaction such as supplier quality assurance, transitions, material productivity, and cost reductions

  • Support customer communication to facilitate and improve Product Quality and delivery as needed

  • Able to manage projects and provide work direction and mentoring to other Engineers and Product Engineering Technicians

  • Drive improvement of unit cost management including Cost Savings, Quality Measures, Product Cost, Productivity, Escapes and Rolled Throughput Yields

  • Utilizes Six Sigma Plus, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) tools to drive product and process improvement

  • Drive built in quality, reduction in quality escapes, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and Materials Review Board (MRB) utilization for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Support the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures

  • Develop, document, and train operators on work instructions (SOS - Standard Operating Sheets) for assigned process steps.

  • Ensure correct tooling and factory test equipment are available and in use

  • Support all internal and regulatory audits

  • Identify and implement Root Cause Corrective Actions using processes such as Corrective Action Mistake-Proofing (CAMP). Participate in developing cause chains to determine real issues and cause

  • Suggest changes to Design Engineering regarding issues impacting product integrity

  • Provides data for analysis and identification of capital equipment needs to address gaps in capacity. Manage approval, quotation, ordering, and installation processes.

  • Drive adherence to department Momentum (Design Engineering) budgets

  • Provide technical leadership to ensure improvements or achievement of AOP in the following: On-Time Delivery, PPM, Escapes, Cycle-time Reduction, First Pass Yield, Turn Around Time, Inventory Reduction, COPQ and Safety

  • Participates with the New Product Development (NPD) Engineers and the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process (Phase 1-5) for new product introductions

    YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • 4 years of Engineering experience

  • Must be a US citizen due to government contracts
