Aerospace Minneapolis, currently has multiple openings for Product Manufacturing Engineers. The Product Engineer is the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) identified technical expert with responsibility for supporting the product and process. He/she provides guidance and technical expertise for assigned areas and products of responsibility. The Product Engineer drives for product integrity, manufacturing output and continuous improvements working with factory operations, demand planning, engineering, and sourcing. This role will drive product improvement initiatives and report to the Product Engineering Manager/Supervisor.


  • Drive overall product and process improvements using the DMAIC producibility operating system

  • Plan, deploy, monitor and control improvements including supplier initiatives to drive product and process improvements

  • Support customer communication to facilitate and improve Product Quality and delivery as needed

  • Able to manage small projects and provide work direction and mentoring to Product Engineering Technicians

  • Drive improvement of unit cost management including Cost Savings, Quality Measures, Product Cost, Productivity, Escapes and Rolled Throughput Yields

  • Drive built in quality, reduction in quality escapes, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and Materials Review Board (MRB) utilization for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Support the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures

  • Develop, document, and train operators on work instructions (SOS - Standard Operating Sheets) for assigned process steps

  • Ensure correct tooling and factory test equipment are available and in use

  • Support all internal and regulatory audits

  • Identify and implement Root Cause Corrective Actions using processes such as Corrective Action Mistake-Proofing (CAMP). Participate in developing cause chains to determine real issues and cause

  • Suggest changes to Design Engineering regarding issues impacting product integrity

  • Provides data for analysis and identification of capital equipment needs to address gaps in capacity

  • Manage approval, quotation, ordering, and installation processes

  • Drive adherence to department Momentum (Design Engineering) budgets

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure improvements or achievement of AOP in the following: On-Time Delivery, PPM, Escapes, Cycle-time Reduction, First Pass Yield, Turn Around Time, Inventory Reduction, COPQ and Safety

  • Participates with the New Product Development (NPD) Engineers and the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process (Phase 1-5) for new product introductions


  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • 2 years of Engineering experience


  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques and their impact on costs including continuous improvement

  • Able to make decisions to positively impact the operations

  • Knowledge, skill and experience with varied manufacturing processes

  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status and program needs across different levels of the organization and different operating environments

  • Able to be a key contributor on a high performance team

  • Able to deal tactfully and confidently with internal, external customers and suppliers at all organizational levels

  • Familiar with project management skills and able to close initiatives on time and within budget

  • Results oriented, self-motivated, process driven

  • Working knowledge of SAP and Honeywell Operating System where applicable
