• Operate, monitor and take readings on a group of pilot plants, as well as make adjustments and take corrective actions to keep the plants on specifications during routine operations. • Coordinate the operation of an assigned group of pilot plants during plant start-ups, shutdowns, and modifications. • Collect, organize and conduct limited interpretation of results and report those results to the customer. • Will ensure there is good communication within the Pilot Plant Testing Group and with Researchers • Ensure compliance with HS&E policies and procedures. • Recommend quality and productivity improvements. • Implement approved plant modifications. • Will be accountable to provide technician support services to the Researchers • This activity will include advising the customer on the set up of pilot plant runs and making recommendations for improvement to the operations.
**Shift Technicians operate pilot plants while working a 12 hour shift rotating through day and night shifts, and are eligible for shift premiums and scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays is a must for this role.
*While the primary location for this position will be McCook, IL; candidates must be flexible to work at either our Des Plaines, IL or McCook, IL facility as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED * US work authorization Additional Qualifications: * 1 years’ experience operating a fork lift is a plus. * Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, work on elevated platforms as well as climb ladders and portable lifts * Ability to work independently and interpret detailed loading instructions. * The ability to interpret and follow an extensive set of customer and company specifications. * Intermediate math skills, interpret measuring devices, and reading gauges. * Intermediate typing skills and working knowledge of Word and Excel is required. * Requires high level of attention to detail, and accuracy while under tight deadlines. * Must possess good communication skills and be a team player. * Ability to solve practical problems. * Accurately follow work instructions, and meet company & customer expectations, as well as standard operating procedures without deviation.
