This is an amazing opportunity to join Honeywell as a Cell Leader / Production Supervisor. You will be hands on with some supervisory leadership. Honeywell recently acquired Elster and the successful candidate will be involved in developing the operation systems.

What are we looking for?

Someone with hands on manufacturing experience, who is an expert with small parts assembly, production, technical testing and who is currently in a Supervisor or Team lead role. Ultimately someone capable of making Honeywell Water Meters and leading a team of production staff. ** You will be required to work shifts, including nights

Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to a Team Leader, effectively organise the resource in a cell or cells to satisfy customer requirements on a day to day basis. Identify, drive and sustain improvement activities in line with Key Metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Stock Accuracy and Continuous Improvement.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Communicate key metrics and departmental issues with your Team Leader and Manufacturing Manager

  • Conduct Tier 1 Meetings Daily at a designated time to review production metrics and issues

  • Attend Tier 2 Meetings Daily (Early Shift only) at a designated time and report back production metrics and issues to your Cell in a timely manner

  • All communications should be conducted in a non-threatening manner

  • Ensure the effective communications processes are followed

  • Refer all uncertainty to your Team Leader and Manufacturing Manager or other appropriate personnel

  • Attend any other Business related meetings as required

    Standard Work

  • You will be the key contact to ensure Cell/department work is raised and completed on
    time to Standards and customer requirements

  • Maintain visual metrics daily

  • Evaluate and act upon variation to standard timings to ensure efficiency accuracies

  • Generate daily Production/Sales reports and paperwork to assist in the achievement of customer requirements

  • Review any lost minutes daily and generate corrective actions appropriately

  • Review Production Plan against current conditions and generate corrective actions to address all shortfall(s). Communicate all Safety, Quality, Delivery, HSE, Inventory issues to the Team Leader whilst following the escalation procedure to highlight issues to functional Leaders

  • Ensure cell training matrix is completed and up to date

  • Co-ordinate on the job and HSE training

  • To undertake all other reasonable duties as requested by Team Leaders and the
    Manufacturing Leader


  • Conduct cell risk assessments as and when required

  • Ensure cell level risk assessment summary sheets are signed and posted monthly

  • Ensure HSE observations and conditions are reported

  • Feedback to team the daily HSE information message

  • Responsible for Cell HSE daily Metrics


  • Ensure daily 5s activities are completed as per defined schedule

    Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure general housekeeping and the maintenance of 5S Principles

  • Maintain visual replenishment systems within the production areas, ensuring materials stored are kept to a minimum

  • Maintain visual cell information board with appropriate data examples of which are Productivity, Quality Yield, Health & Safety Audits etc.


  • Use rapid problem solving techniques to implement permanent corrective actions relating to Cell quality issues. Report major Quality or Documentation issues to a Team leader in line with the escalation procedure

  • Lead/participate in root cause analysis

  • Initiate and follow the Tier1 escalation process

  • Ensure Cell Quality Metrics are updated daily

  • Ensure Operating Manuals are available, up to date, utilised and adhered to for every job

  • Confirm Operator adherence to work instructions

  • Complete process confirmation checks daily as specified

  • Responsible for ensuring Cell performance against daily quality metrics

    Equipment Effectiveness

  • Ensure equipment and machines are always in a safe and good working condition

  • Participate in Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM),Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), maintenance and improvement projects

  • Ensure the smooth changeover of jobs on the production line to minimise down time .

    What skills and requirements do you need?

  • A good basic level of education

  • Cell Leadership experience

  • Assembly and Production experience

  • Competent in Microsoft Office packages – Word, Excel

  • Knowledge of lean tools

  • Consistently demonstrate the 12 Honeywell Behaviours and the HOS Key Behaviours

  • Flexibility – ability to work in other departments throughout Manufacturing

  • English
