Honeywell Mechanical Engineer- Simulation Analyst in Kansas City, Missouri

The Kansas City Plant is looking for an experience, qualified, Mechanical Engineer that is focused on applying simulation tools to manufacturing and design challenges. This position is one that requires a person with a high level of knowledge and confidence in applying simulation tools, using the Finite Element Method, and one that can relay and convey techniques to internal customers, external customers and the working staff. Working in both technical and cross-functional business teams is a must. Experience with the latest in simulation tools, including the ABAQUS software tool, is required. The position requires a small amount of travel, and can be computer intensive work. The position will require duties that include both current applications and future technology development.

Summary of Duties: * Evaluate manufacturing and design processes using simulation technologies. * Work with the simulation staff on software challenges/issues. * Interface with customers for moving requirements to simulation solutions. * Aid in future development of software/hardware for simulation support. * Develop new techniques using simulation technologies for manufacturing. * Must be able to work in cross functional teams. * Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. * Position will require 15-25% travel

You Must Have: * US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy "Q"-level security clearance. * Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * Minimum of 2 years of simulation technology experience using Finite Element Methods. * Minimum of 2 years of experience using the ABAQUS software or equivalent.

Note: Candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for a higher level engineering job classification (II; Senior) commensurate with candidate credentials and as warranted by the scope of work and current business requirements.

We Value: * End-User experience with UNIX/LINUX operating systems * Seven or more years of experience finite element analysis preferred * Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering * Six Sigma certifications and use of principles/tools with simulation technologies. * Understanding of applying simulation technology to manufacturing applications. * Understanding of thermal, mechanical, and coupled simulations. * Experience with the SIERRA (Sandia National Laboratory) software suite. * Experience using MS Office Suite desktop applications. * Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. * Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
