Honeywell Research Scientist: Data and Visual Analytics in Golden Valley, Minnesota

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist: Data and Visual Analytics to contribute to new and ongoing research projects at Honeywell’s Golden Valley, MN office. You will collaborate with both external and Honeywell-internal customers to define and meet objectives spanning a wide range from early research to all the way through product release. As an individual contributor to ongoing projects, you will complement existing team members having backgrounds in data science, machine learning, and image processing.

In Honeywell’s Advanced Connected Sustainability Technologies (ACST) division, we have research groups covering a wide range of technologies, sponsored by internal and external customers for commercial and government applications, respectively. Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to new ongoing research projects in 3D computer vision, image processing, and computational imaging via rapid algorithm prototyping and evaluation.

  • Provide data modeling, mining, pattern analysis, data visualization and machine learning solutions to address customer needs.

  • Develop, document, and transfer to Honeywell businesses technology that enables new product and service offerings.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, or other relevant field.

  • 1 years of experience (including graduate studies) with rapid software prototyping/modeling (Matlab, Python, etc.) and/or production software (C, C , C#, Java, etc.).

  • 3 years of experience (including graduate studies) with computer vision, data science, or machine learning.

  • 3 years of experience bringing prototypes to production on Hadoop and/or NoSQL platforms Preferred Qualifications:

  • Modeling and development experience with data science and cloud computing platforms (Hadoop, Cassandra, Spark, Hive, etc.)

  • Experience with algorithm development and optimization.

  • Experience in cloud-based image processing, template-based matching and development of cloud-based services.

  • Ability to communicate results and present to a broad audience, from peer researchers to Honeywell-internal customers. U.S. citizenship.
