Position Accountabilities:

•Evaluate commercial operations, through remote monitoring or on-site troubleshooting, of UOP and heritage Phillips 66 HF Alkylation Technology to assist customers in achieving their goals.

•Provide start-up support on new UOP-licensed units and turn-around support on catalyst change-out events.

•Participate in customer meetings

•Participate in R&D delivery and technology improvement projects, bringing commercial perspectives and key data to the team.

•Provide sales support; including technical and commercial perspective, recommendations on guarantees, startup

•Support requirements and commercial operating experience.

•Lead guarantee resolution projects by coordinating problem investigation efforts and developing solutions. Work with UOP departments and licensees to deliver corrective measures.

•Create operating procedures and process improvement techniques that maximize customer earnings while meeting the highest standards for safety.

•Provide support to Sales through customer visits, technical presentations, licensee symposia and papers.

•Mentor less experienced engineers and scientists.

•Contribute to short and long term development project ideas in existing markets to improve quality or to meet new customer goals or to address a competitive threat.

•Effectively communicating UOP recommendations, requirements and benefits.

•Champion changes and improvements in technologies supported via innovation.

•Participate in Engineering review meetings for new units and revamps including Design Basis, PFD Process flow Diagrams, P&ID Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, HAZOP, Hazardous Operations, Model Reviews, and others activities.

•Provide start-up support on new UOP-licensed units and turn-around support on catalyst change-out events.

•Bring operational and safety considerations into design to ensure reliable performance.

•Serve as focal point for office-based support, working with customers to rectify issues.

•Provide office-based and on-site troubleshooting assistance to commercial units and conduct on-site commercial unit audits.

•Proactive mentoring, training and initiation of technical forums.

•Keep current with customer needs for technologies support, communicating changes, and incorporating relevant changes into appropriate documents.

•Develop, prepare, update and present training materials for UOP technology training courses.

•Develop, prepare and update training, general operating, and process technology manuals.

YOU MUST HAVE

•Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

WE VALUE:

•Experience in a technical service, engineering or process operations engineering role within the refining, petrochemical or gas processing industry.

•Operating experience in HF Alkylation technology

•Ability to conduct physical inspections requiring physical up, crawling through & walking on pressure vessels, distillation columns, tanks, and piping.

•Solid understanding of the safety hazards associated with HF Alkylation units.

Experience in Fluid Catalytic and Treating (Merox) technologies is a plus.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills.

•Solid comprehensive and problem solving skills.

•Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

•Effective presentation skills. MS Office computer skills are desired.

•Ability to travel up to 25% annually to both domestic and international sites. Negotiated timing.
