Honeywell Project Lead in Bangalore, India

First level people management position and responsible for delivery of project/group objectives, influences project level productivity. Successfully implements site wide business process or directly supervises an operational work group and unit budget. •Should be well grounded in engineering concepts with a capability of connecting theoretical aspects with actual products and engineering process/methodologies. •Should be proficient with deep knowledge in the assigned area of work and capable of reviewing the technical competency of direct reports'. •Capable of evolving elegant solutions to problems in quick time by fostering collaborative and participative behaviors in the team and across teams. •Must be capable of demonstrating strong ownership of tasks and providing sound technical direction. •Capable of projecting multi-disciplinary knowledge with high knowledge/competency in assigned area and robust knowledge in related fields. Able to lead the team from the front through application holistic understanding of tasks and its interdependencies with other systems/teams. •Capable of understanding the business aspects and its linkage between business and projects / domains. Financial health awareness (Budgets, ROI, margins, markets, customers, competitors, business forecasts, legal issues, pricing). •Works with peers to develop and exchange ideas regarding alternative solutions to program issues and challenges. •Provides guidance and direction to employees on operational matters. •Monitors performance and progress of team and adopts tactics to support unexpected occurrences that arise in the development process. •Uses judgment to make critical people-related decisions • Participate in development of STRAP and product line road maps • Identify VE saving opportunities in the existing product lines to reduce product cost • Participate in Business venture analysis of new ideas for viability in to NPI projects by working with product marketing and finance team • Facilitate development of H1 (Growth Projects), H2 ideas (Technology incubation) to develop Proof of Concept (POC) and Pre Product Visualizations (PPVs). • Identify ideas / opportunities for improving the cycle time of NPI projects • Recognize potential new products and works primarily with Honeywell staff, customers, potential partners and suppliers to influence business decisions. • Contribute to NPI revenue and engage with Regional customers by working with Regional Marketing team • Develop Value Add Capture model and Customer Defined Value through competitive tear down and Bench Mark analysis • Drive Risk identification and mitigation in the project in a timely manner • Demonstrate ownership for conceptualization, end-to-end design, production implementation and successful product launch • Responsible for phase gate deliverables as per PAC process • Participate in Annual Operating Plan (AOP), CAPEX investments for every year • Responsible for Front Loading the projects to reduce program risks and improve cycle time • Provide direction, guidance and facilitation to the teams for resolving project risks • Responsible for resource planning, leveling, allocation and productivity of resources • Responsible for talent development, talent retention, knowledge management, knowledge gap analysis and competency & capability development around focused product line • Drive Kaizens, IP generation, Pre Product Visualization (PPV), internal projects, new technology trends and growth ideas •During program and project planning, sets objectives and prioritizes activities across work group in accordance with established schedules. •Aligns group's objectives and re-prioritizes resources based on budget availability to meet deliverables on time. •Assigns work and objectives to specific functions within the work group in order to balance demand with available resources. •Recommend the right individuals for the work and provide direction for formation of teams •Determines and assesses need for additional staff and makes the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle. •Establishes and administers procedures relevant to achieving operational goals. •Follows Leadership Standardized work and drives HOS practices like 5S, Continuous Improvement etc •Leads, influences and motivates others, provides direction, removes barriers.  Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience and minimum of 10 years of experience  People management exposure with problem solving skills and Multi Disciplinary NPI delivery experience  Excellent focus on execution, should ensure responsiveness to customers, team and management  Must be a good communicator of vision, ideas and work requirements  Must be an innovative and integrative thinker quick to visualize solutions and generate ideas
