Cloud Services CoE - Design Engineer

Purpose of the

Job

The purpose

of this Cloud services Design Engineer role is to provide a specific focal

point for identifying, designing, delivering and supporting automation,

networking and cybersecurity within the Cloud services CoE. The engineer will liaise between the Cloud Services CoE Leader,

engineering, CoE consultant HPS IT and DE to maintain VEP automation and to

facilitate best network and security working practices associated with use

cases defined by the Virtualization program manager.

2. Principal Responsibilities

The principal responsibility is to drive excellence in Cloud services

CoE delivery by contributing in the following areas:

1. Managing / auditing / maintaining and creating automation scripts

2. Design and implementation of 3rd party device connectivity solutions to Cloud services

programs (VEP, Open VEP and Cloud Services CoE)

3. Managing / auditing and coordinating security across the whole VEP infrastructure to

maintain compliance but also to deliver new functionality and connectivity in a

secure and compliant manager.

4. Maintain reporting mechanisms and provide backup and usage reporting to Cloud CoE

Leader.

5. Provide technical support for Trouble Shooting for the Cloud programs with the help of

IT and Ops engineer.

6. Responsible for design optimisation of Cloud Services system which falls under CoE group.

7. Managing the Critical customer support requests.

8. Conducting training for customers and ops team.

9. Liase with IT to test VEP during and after IT upgrades / patches / redesign

10. Maintain technical aspects of the MOS and associated documentation and guidance

11. Technical Interface between TAC and Ops engineers.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

1. Create, manage and maintain script for all automation purposes

within VEP, Open VEP and Elevate.

a. Liaise with Cloud service operations team to identify scripting

requirements

b. Design, build and test scripts using the test / dev environment

c. Maintain scripting documentation and compliance

d. Liaise with IT to plan and implement future scripting frameworks

2. Design, implement secure remote hardware connectivity solutions to

VEP, Open VEP and Elevate.

a. Maintain, support and develop solutions for hardware connectivity Cloud

hosted location to Honeywell locations

b. Maintain, support and develop solutions for hardware connectivity

from Cloud hosted location to non-Honeywell locations

c. Liaise with HGS and ensure SSR processes, documentation and

compliance are maintained for all solutions

d. Support design meetings for customer specific connections, liaising

with IT and HGS

e. Liaise with IIOT group to ensure solution alignment

3. Design, Implement and maintain script for all automation purposes

Within

Experion Elevate.

a. Liaise with Elevate operations team to identify scripting

requirements

b. Design, build and test scripts using the test / dev environment

c. Maintain scripting documentation and compliance

d. Liaise with IT to plan and implement future scripting frameworks

4. Experion PKS Product Expert

a. Support custom designs with EPKS knowledge

b. Act as technical design consultant in Open VEP where a customer

requires a non-standard configuration

c. Liaise with IT on Anti-Virus and other technical considerations for

new EPKS product releases to ensure technical stability and suitability of the

environment.

5. Backup Architect

a. Design optimised backup strategies for template and custom systems

b. Test backup strategies

c. Periodic audits on VEP Operations backup implementation

effectiveness

6. Documentation

a. Create and maintain technical aspects of the VEP MOS

b. Maintain technical documentation for VEP operations functions and

guidance

c. Maintain VEP and Open VEP Wikis

7. Testing

a. Provide guidance and input to IT operations during planning and

implementation of upgrades and patches

b. Formulate and maintain test plans and systems

c. Perform testing on VEP QA environment prior to patching

d. Perform testing on VEP production environments post patching and

upgrade

1. Education Required

Degree in engineering -

Instrumentation and Control or equivalent

Six Sigma Green Belt

Certified will be added advantage.

2. Work Experience Required

5 to 10 years of experience as

a Project engineer.

Experience essential in

·

System design and implementation of EPKS/SCADA

system

·

Minimum 2 years project engineering experience

·

Basic experience of network implementation

·

experience of Microsoft Active Directory

·

EPKS / SCADA configuration and server

implementation

·

VMWare Virtualization hands on experience

·

Experience in handling customer issues.

3. Preferred Qualifications

·

EPKS

Product certifications

·

Cisco CCNA or equivalent

·

Formal coding qualifications (prefer Java /

Powershell)

4. Behavioural Competencies Required

5. Language Requirements
